TDP, CPI(M) stage walkout in Council
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: Members of the Telugu Desam Party and CPI(M) staged a walkout in the Legislative Council on Friday, unhappy with Finance Minister K. Rosaiah’s reply to the 2008-09 budget debate.
Before leading the walkout, TDP leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao accused the Government of acting against the interests of SCs, STs, BCs and minorities, failing to control prices and snatching of lands for SEZs. Ch. Seetharamulu (CPI-M) followed suit, charging the Government with selling lands meant for the poor and failing to curb corruption.
