HYDERABAD: ‘Asha’ and ‘Padalani Vundi’ were among the best films selected for the Nandi Television film awards of the State Government for 2005. They were selected in the categories of telefilm and television features respectively. The jury for the awards declared the winners after submitting its report to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy at the Secretariat on Friday. April last weekJury chairman Relangi Narasimha Rao and member-convener C. Parthasarathi told reporters that the Nandi television film awards for 2005 and 2006 were likely to be presented at Visakhapatnam in the last week of April. A separate jury with Vaddepalli Krishna as chairman was screening the entries to select winners for 2006 and would submit its report in ten days. 40 entriesThey said there were 40 entries from among TV films produced and telecast over various Telugu satellite channels in 2005 for selection of winners in eight categories. The screening of the films which commenced on January 30 concluded today. UnanimousThe 11-member jury was unanimous in its decisions and considered the entries on merit. The awards for 2007 for which entries were being invited would be presented by the year end, the jury chairman said.
