BHOPAL: The inaugural issue of Athletic Today, a journal brought out by the Athletics Coaches Association of India (ACAI) was released by the Secretary of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), Lalit Bhanot, here on Wednesday. “Indian coaches need to play a bigger role,” said Mr. Bhanot on the occasion. He pointed out the improvement made by the middle distance runners under Belarus coach Nikolai Snesarev to drive home the point that a lot could be done by the Indian coaches also. The journal, edited by coach Rajinder Singh, contains articles by well known international experts. The publication would be made bi-annual possibly by next year, said the President of the ACAI, J.S. Saini. — Special Correspondent
