Insurance firm told to pay compensation
SRIVILLIPUTTUR: The Virudhunagar Principal District and Sessions Court has directed a nationalised general insurance company to pay a compensation of Rs. 8.04 lakh to the children of a couple who were killed in a road accident.
The children, two girls and boys, had sought suitable compensation for the death of their parents, Anbazhagan and Pandiammal.
They were killed on the spot when a speeding car knocked the moped on which they were riding on the Srivilliputtur-Krishnankoil highway in June 2003.
Disposing of the motor accident claims petition, the Judge, V. Balasundrakumar, ordered the insurance company to pay Rs. 4.02 lakh each towards the death of the father and mother of the children.
