Video recording on JD(S) achievements prepared Party to discuss fallout of delimitation of Assembly constituencies Bangalore: The former Chief Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy will be back in active politics from Tuesday and is expected to get straight into election mode. The Janata Dal (Secular) leadership has called for a day-long high-level meeting at the Bangalore Palace on Tuesday and it will be the first major public meeting that Mr. Kumaraswamy will be addressing after he underwent an open heart surgery for replacement of a heart valve in December last. The former Chief Minister, after a fortnight of rest on discharge from hospital, has been meeting a few political leaders and people over the last few weeks. During his rest and recuperation, the former Chief Minister prepared a 20-minute video recording in colour which will form the backbone of the Janata Dal (Secular) election campaign. The video shows Mr. Kumaraswamy’s work as Chief Minister when he headed a 20-month coalition government. It also has people’s feedback component and the response that he received during the Janata Darshans and the village stay (grama vastavya) programmes which he initiated. Work is on to bring out another video recording specifically for Bangalore that contains details of the manner in which the encroachment of government lands was checked by his government, and the improvements made to Bangalore’s infrastructure. The video recording will be telecast by all cable television channels during the run-up to the election campaign. MeetingThe Janata Dal (Secular) leadership has called for the high level meeting to discuss the fallout of the delimitation of Legislative Assembly constituencies which received the Presidential approval a few days ago. Mr. Kumaraswamy has called another meeting at a private resort near Bidadi on Wednesday to sort out intra-party issues, particularly the differences among some senior leaders. About 100 party leaders from all the districts have been called for this meeting. Mr. Kumaraswamy would henceforth be accompanied by a personal doctor, and during his outstation tours he would also be accompanied by a cook and personal staff. “I have been advised to have a personal doctor. I will work from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day and this I think should suffice,” he said. Announcing that he is “fit and raring to return,” the former Chief Minister thanked the people of the State and his well wishers for their support.
