Avis lifts Ramco Cup

MANGALORE: Avis (Mangalore) won the Ramco Cup under-16 cricket tournament at the Nehru Maidan here on Friday by defeating Mangalore Cricket Academy by 58 runs in the final.

Chasing 167 for a win, MCA was bowled out for 108 in the final over.

The scores: Final: Avis 166 for nine in 25 overs (Chandrakanth Purohit 53, Moin Khan 25, Rameez 24, Kaushik four for 27) bt Mangalore Cricket Academy 108 in 24.1 overs (Santhosh three for 21, Chandrakanth Purohit three for 21). — Staff Correspondent
