NEW DELHI: The first Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC) Film Festival will be held here from February 22 to March 1, in partnership with the Directorate of Film Festivals. It was at the seventh Council of Ministers Meeting of the IOR-ARC held in March last year that India offered to host the festival. The IOR-ARC is a regional initiative started in Mauritius in March 1997 with the aim of promoting economic and technical cooperation, including expansion of trade and investment. It has 18 members including India, Australia, Kenya, Mauritius, Oman, Singapore, South Africa, Indonesia, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Yemen, Bangladesh, Iran, Thailand and the UA E. The Australian film Yolngu Boy will be screened at the inauguration, where the directors of the films from Australia, Mauritius and Bangladesh will be present.
