Cremation ground to be restored

The District Collector, S.S. Jawahar, has directed the Corporation authorities to restore the cremation ground at Sambakulam.

At a meeting held in the city late on Sunday, he instructed officials to restore the cremation shed and water supply facilities that were destroyed by “unidentified” persons last week.

Mr. Jawahar also directed the police to initiate appropriate action against those responsible for damaging public property at the cremation ground, official sources said.
