Congress will maintain coalition ‘dharma,’ says Krishnasswamy

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Congress will always maintain “coalition dharma,” said Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president M.Krishnasswamy here on Sunday.

Reacting to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president and Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi’s appeal that the constituents of the Democratic Progressive Alliance should adhere to the “coalition dharma,” Mr.Krishnasswamy said the Congress party never indulged in activities that would cause embarrassment to alliance parties.

He said the party did not take credence to Dravidar Kazhagam president K.Veeramani’s statement finding fault with V.Arunkumar, in-charge of Congress affairs in Tamil Nadu for his discussion with Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam leader Vijayakanth recently.

The TNCC chief said the next regional conference of the party would be held in Salem after the presentation of Union Budget as Union Finance Minister was busy with budget preparation.
