MADURAI: Steps are being taken to ensure strict invigilation at all examination centres in the State where Plus Two public examinations would be held next month.
Minister for School Education Thangam Thennarasu told The Hindu here on Sunday that the list of examination centres has been approved already and “we are now trying to get invigilators from Anna University and other places to prevent examination-related malpractices.’
He said that a meeting of Chief Educational Officers of all districts would be convened in a couple of days in Chennai to finalise the arrangements at examination centres. Mr. Thennarasu, who was in Madurai to attend a government function organised for distribution of colour television sets to beneficiaries, said that the Department of School Education may rope in external examiners from Anna University and other places in the interest of students.
Marks matter a lot
“Copying should not happen under any circumstances. We will be tough in invigilation because marks matter a lot for students in the absence of entrance examination for engineering and medical courses,” the Minister said. He said that the practical examinations for Plus Two students were already over and the final public examinations too would go as per schedule under strict supervision, he said.
