Protest against fuel price hike

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Activists belonging to the Delhi units of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party of India and the Revolutionary Socialist Party staged a demonstration at Parliament Street here on Saturday protesting against the increase in petrol and diesel prices.

Addressing the gathering, CPI (M) leader Nilotpal Basu, CPI member Dinesh Varshney and Delhi State RSP secretary Asit Ganguli lambasted the Union for fuelling inflation through hikes in fuel prices. “People are already suffering from the unprecedented rise in prices of essential commodities. The latest increase in fuel prices will add to their miseries,” they said.
