BMTC pays relief

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation has paid Rs. 1 lakh as compensation to Abdul Khadar, father of Noor Ahmed, a motorcyclist who died during an accident involving a BMTC bus near Lalbagh on February 2. BMTC Chief Traffic Manager Dastagir Sharief said in a press release that the amount was issued under the 24-hour automatic insurance scheme which was one of the seven benefits under the Rainbow Scheme made available to the monthly commuter pass holders.
