“Organ transplant an ethical issue”

NEW DELHI: Internationally renowned Professor Michael J. Klag has said that organ transplantation is an ethical issue and people need to be educated in India about organ donation.

Speaking at a function here over the weekend, Prof. Klag said it was necessary to have enough organs for the needy.

“A strict and vigilant screening committee to check illegal practices is a must.

In the United States, donating and receiving an organ is an ethical issue and screening committees there are very strict,” he added.
