Two killed in road accidents

Bangalore: Two persons were killed in as many road accidents in the early hours of Friday in the city. The police said that around 2.30 a.m. a lorry ran over two security guards who were sleeping on the roadside at the junction of Mysore Road and Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE) Road.

While Guruprasad (21) of Somapura village was killed on the spot, the other guard, Manjunath, is battling for his life in hospital. The two were guarding construction material reportedly belonging to NICE, the police said. The Byatarayanapura traffic police have registered a case.

In the other incident, Lingappa (28) was killed after he was run over by a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus at 2nd Stage, Peenya, around 2.30 a.m.

The police said that while trying to board the bus, Lingappa fell on the road and came under the wheels of the bus.
