Safety orientation programme

CHENNAI: The Inspectorate of Factories conducted a safety orientation programme for export garment unit workers in Madras Export Processing Zone here on Tuesday.

S. Elangovan, Chief Inspector of Factories, inaugurating the programme, emphasised the importance of safety, the need of proper ergonomics and precautionary measures to be adopted during the crisis. He also released a safety manual for garment unit workers. V. Navaneetha Krishnan, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, conducted a session on safety awareness. — Special Correspondent
