Probe sought into land deals
Special Correspondent
Thiruvananthapuram: Congress Deputy Leader in the Assembly G. Karthikeyan on Wednesday alleged that the stand of the government and the ISRO on identifying land for the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology has led to suspicion about their real motives.
At a press conference here, Mr. Karthikeyan, while opposing the reported moves to acquire land in Uzhamalakal panchayat to set up the institute, said the State government had so far not disclosed the land it had identified. The ISRO, which had rejected the proposal to utilise the land available with the LPSC, had not even bothered to evaluate the identified sites.
He demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the land deals.
