Shankara to lead India

NEW DELHI: Two-time world champion R.M. Shankara will spearhead the Indian challenge in the fifth World Carrom Championship to be staged at Cannes, France, from February 13 to 17.

The team:

Men: R.K. Shankara, R. Arokia Raj, M. Nataraj, Yogesh Pardesi, Sandeep Deorukhkar, D. Kubendra Babu, Jitendra Kale and Prakash Gaikwad.

Women: Rashmi Kumari, I. Ilavazhagi, P. Nirmala, G. Revathi, Kavita Somanchi, Anuraju, Sangeeta Chandorka and Anupama Kedar.

Managers: S.S. Prasad, Kamna Yadav; Coach: Bharat Bhushan; Officials: S.K. Sharma, Ratan Singh and P. Raveendran. Assistant chief referee: V. D. Narayan; Umpires: Vijay Kumar, S. Gupte and T. Dhiren Singh.
