Spat over accident
HYDERABAD: Situation was under control on Monday at Amberpet where tension prevailed with two groups attacking each other and pelting stones on local police station following argument over a road accident. The Amberpet police registered cases on both the groups.
Trouble started on Sunday night when an auto-rickshaw driver Qutbuddin and local BJP leader’s brother Mahender Goud entered into an argument after the latter’s bike hit the oncoming three-wheeler accidentally near Amberpet Gandhi statue. After some time, the driver and his associates allegedly attacked Goud and his two friends while they were passing by ‘six number’ bus-stop.
On learning about this, Goud’s group gathered and attacked Qutbuddin and his friends. Within minutes, supporters of both the groups gathered on the road and started hurling stones at each other. They also pelted stones at the police station building when policemen tried to disperse the mobs by resorting to latchicharge.
