BSNL, SAI clinch titles

NEDUKUNNAM: BSNL (Thiruvananthapuram) and SAI (Thrissur) won the men’s and women’s titles respectively in the 28th CYMA all-Kerala basketball tournament at the St. John’s Baptist HSS floodlit court here on Monday.

BSNL defeated Central Excise (Kochi) 77-67. Rahul Krishna (22) top-scored for BSNL and was well complemented by Ullas Jose (18), Vijobi Vakkachan (12) and Manzoor Ahmed (11).

For Excise, Sunny Thomas (21) and international Subash J. Shenoy (16) did the bulk of the scoring.

SAI scraped past Assumption College (Changanassery) 48-45 in the women’s final.

Men: BSNL (Thiruvananthapuram) 77 (Rahul Krishna 22, Ullas Jose 18, Vijobi Vakkachan 12, Manzoor Ahmed 11) bt Central Excise (Kochi) 67 (Sunny Thomas 21, Subash J. Shenoy 16, Eudric Pereira 14).
