Sanitary inspector suspended
CHENNAI: The sanitary inspector of ward 28, B. Srinivasulu, was suspended for discrepancies in marking attendance of conservancy workers.
Following complaints that attendance was not being marked correctly in the ward, Mayor M. Subramanian and Corporation Commissioner Rajesh Lakhoni conducted an inspection of the area, according to a press release.
They found that several streets in the area had not been swept. Attendance had been marked even for absentee workers. Mr. Subramanian ordered that the sanitary inspector be suspended. He urged zonal officers to continue to inspect attendance registers of conservancy workers, the release added.
