MYSORE: Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has scheduled to transmit 490 live sessions using both VSAT and DTH channels of VTUEDUSAT network from February 11 to May 5 from its studio at DSERT campus in Bangalore. The VTU curriculum-based 10 subjects will be handled by subject experts from academia. Each subject will be covered in 35 sessions of one hour, a press release from VTU e-Learning Centre Special Officer T.N. Nagabhushan said. The subjects to be covered in the sessions are — introduction to microprocessor, computer networks-1, VHDL, information theory and coding, kinematics of mechanics, hydraulics and hydraulics machines, power system analysis and stability, thermo-dynamics, mathematics-4 and process control. “The subjects have been identified based on factors like popularity, relevance to industry and non-availability of faculty to teach these subjects in many engineering colleges,” the press release added. Besides the full-semester subjects, the “CXO Speaks” programme will be telecast on every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. IT giants — IBM and Sun Microsystems — are conducting “Technology Specific Classes” in afternoon.
