THE CHAMPIONS: The PSBB (K.K. Nagar) team, which won the Vidya Mandir-Sportstar u-13 cricket tournament. Chennai: Trophies and the individual prizes were presented at a special function that marked the successful conclusion of the 10th Vidya Mandir-Sportstar under-13 cricket tournament at the Vidya Mandir School premises on Thursday. K. Mohan, Chairman, Selection Committee for Schools and Colleges in the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, gave away the trophy to Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (K.K. Nagar), the winner. The runner-up cup was presented to Santhome Higher Secondary School by Bhavani Raghunandhan, Principal, Vidya Mandir. Suraj is Player of the TournamentM.S. Suraj of P.S. Senior Secondary High School was declared the Player of the Tournament. He scored 224 runs, claimed six wickets and held four catches. Karthik Ganesh (PSBB) was adjudged the best batsman for aggregating 197 runs. The award for best bowler went to Arun Anand (13 wickets) of Santhome HSS, while Vigneswar (nine catches) of Santhome HSS was adjudged the best fielder. K. Srinivasan, Organising Secretary, along with the committee members, Priya Ramkumar and Kanaka Durga thanked the sponsor — The Sportstar — and the 16 schools that participated in the tournament.
