ONGC wins snooker title

KOCHI: A day after suffering a surprise loss in billiards, National champion Pankaj Advani bounced back in fine fashion to help ONGC blank BPCL 4-0 in the final and win the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board’s inter-unit snooker team title at the Regional Sports Centre here on Thursday.

The results (snooker, team final): Final: ONGC bt BPCL 4-0 (Pankaj Advani bt Manan Chandra 105-4, 64-36; Alok Kumar bt Devendra Joshi 56-43, 59-46). Third place: IOC bt OIL 4-0.

Semifinals: ONGC bt IOC 4-0; BPCL bt OIL 4-0. — Principal Correspondent
