AHMEDABAD: The death toll in Sunday’s hotel building collapse in Ahmedabad went up to 10 on Monday with three more bodies extricated from the debris by the fire brigade and State government disaster management personnel on Monday. The rescue team, however, also had a pleasant surprise as three more people came out alive from under the debris more than 24 hours after the collapse of the three-storeyed building housing Hotel Shakunt. Even as the excavation of the debris was continuing on Monday, three more bodies were recovered by the rescue team, taking the death toll to 10. Seven bodies were recovered after the collapse of the building on Sunday, while the condition of all the 15 odd injured was stated to be stable. The fire brigade authorities said it could still take about a day more before the clearing operation was completed. But they did not apprehend that there could be anyone still buried under the debris. Three persons, including a visitor from Kolkata, were found alive on Monday and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
