THIRUVALLA: Central Excise, Kochi, dethroned defending champion KSEB with an 8-7 sudden-death victory and marched to the semifinals of the 32nd Kerala State inter-club football championship at the Public Stadium here on Monday evening. The teams were level 1-1 at the end of the regulation period with the goals coming from Excise’s Vineeth Antony (11th minute) and KSEB’s Donald Kenny (35th), and then 4-4 in the tie-breaker. The result (quarterfinal): Central Excise 8 bt KSEB 7.
