World Team championships teams
SILIGURI: A. Sharath Kamal and Poulomi Ghatak figure prominently in the four-member men’s and women’s teams for the World Team table tennis championships which will be held at Guangzhou, China from February 24 to March 2.
A preparatory camp will be held in Patiala under the new National coach Aleksey Yefremov from February 5. The three-member teams for the qualifying tournament for Beijing Olympics, which will be held in Hong Kong from March 6 to 11, were also selected.
The teams:
World Team championships: Men: Sharath Kamal, Subhajit Saha, Soumyadip Roy (all PSPB), Pathik Mehta (Gujarat), A. Amal Raj (Railways). Women: Poulomi Ghatak, Mouma Das, Neha Agarwal, K. Shamini, Kasturi Chakraborty (all PSPB). Coach: Aleksey Yefremov (Belarus), Mantu Ghosh (Petroleum).
Olympic qualifiers: Men: Sharath Kamal, Subhajit Saha, Soumyadip Roy (all PSPB). Women: Poulomi Ghatak, Mouma Das, Neha Agarwal, (all PSPB). Coach Aleksey Yefremov (Belarus). — Principal Correspondent
