TN begins on a winning note

CHENNAI: Host Tamil Nadu started its campaign on a winning note, defeating Uttaranchal 3-0 in the team championship event of the senior National and inter-state carrom championship, here on Saturday.

T.P.M. Mohideen Khan, TN State Minister for Environment, inaugurated the championship.

The results:

Men (league): TN bt Uttaranchal 3-0 (B. Radhakrishnan bt Ashwani 25-0, 25-5; S. Ganesan bt Manu Gupta 25-3, 25-0; S. Sakthivel & Thangakumar bt Yogendra Kumar & Ashuthosh Gupta 25-0, 25-6).

Manipur bt Himachal Pradesh 3-0.

U.P. bt Orissa 2-1.

Hyderabad bt J&K 3-0; Assam bt Kerala 2-1.
