Fake certificate racket busted

City police on Tuesday busted a fake education certificate racket with the arrest of two persons, M. Ashok and P. Vijay Kumar. The Commissioner’s Task Force (West) team said the accused were running Krishnaveni Educational Academy at Tarnaka.

They were making fake certificates in connivance with the J.R.N. Rajasthan Vidyapeeth deemed University’s staff, according to a press release.

A total of 389 fake certificates were seized from them.

They were selling each certificate for Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000.

Counterfeit currency seized, one held

The Commissioner’s Task Force (East) team on Tuesday arrested a person B. Harinath at Indira Seva Sadan crossroads and seized several counterfeit currency notes of different denominations from him. The accused confessed to police that he procured the fake currency from Ch. Ramana of Khammam district, a press release said.
