Sheejith scalps five

Chennai: K. Sheejith, who claimed five wickets for seven runs, helped MG University Kottyam beat VTU Belgaum by 140 runs in the inter-university south zone cricket championship on Sunday.

The scores: NTR University 121 in 33.4 overs (B.C. Satish four for 27) lost to Tumkur University 122 for two in 24 overs (H.J. Girish 60 n.o.).

MG University, Kottayam 240 for eight in 50 overs (Abhishek Hegde 54, K.J. Rakesh 77) bt VTU, Belgaum 100 in 32.3 overs (K.R. Sheejith five for seven).

Andhra University 220 for nine in 50 overs (Kranthikumar56, M.S. Deepak Kumar 54, Hemanth Kumar 32 n.o.) bt Sri Venkateswara University 111 in 36.3overs (Prasad Babu 42).

Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University 143 in 36.5 overs (R. Aravind five for 37) lost to Anna University 146 for six (S. Anand 53 n.o.).

University of Agriculture and Science, Bangalore 166 in 50 overs (H. Raghavendra 79) bt Tanuvas University 152 in 34.3 overs (Vadivalagan 54, A.G. Arun Kumar four for 37).
