Tamil Nadu, WB triumph

KOLKATA: Tamil Nadu men and West Bengal women emerged champions in the 10th National youth volleyball championship at the Aurobinda Stadium in Burdwan on Sunday.

West Bengal women dethroned holder Kerala 27-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-15 in a keenly contested final while Tamil Nadu beat Kerala 25-20, 25-19, 25-21 in the men’s final, according to information reaching here.

Men: TN bt Kerala 25-20, 25-19, 25-21.

Women: WB bt Kerala 27-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-15.

Third place: Men: Karnataka bt Chhattisgarh 20-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Women: TN bt Karnataka 25-17, 25-16, 25-14.

Semifinals: Men: TN bt Chhattisgarh 25-17, 25-16, 27-25; Kerala bt Karnataka 25-22, 16-25, 29-27, 32-30.

Women: WB bt Karnataka 25-15, 25-11, 25-21; Kerala bt TN 25-19, 23-25, 25-15, 25-15.
