Chennai: Former Olympian and a member of the Competitions Committee in the International Hockey Federation, Munir Sait has been nominated as the Tournament Director for the first of the three Olympic qualifiers to come off at North Shore City, Auckland, from February 2 to 9. He was also the TD for the Asia-Oceania tournament which determined the automatic qualifier at Brisbane last year. Six teams are the fray for the one spot to the Beijing Olympics from this cluster. The teams fighting for that important place are New Zealand, Argentina, France, Ireland, Trinidad and Tobacco and United States.
