Bharathidasan wins title

THANJAVUR: Bharathidasan, with seven points, at the end of the semifinal league stage won the title in the South Zone inter-University hockey tournament at the Annai Sathya Stadium here on Wednesday.

Bangalore (four points) and Madras (three points) finished second and third respectively.

The results: Semifinal league: Bharathidasan 2 (Saravanan 1, Ethiraj 1) drew with Madras 2 (Allan Raj 1, Vinod Kanna 1); Bangalore 1 (Kallappa 1) bt Annamalai 0; Bangalore 1 drew with Madras 1; Bharathidasan 2 (Prabhu 1, Harikrishnan 1) bt Annamalai 1 (Naveen 1). — Sports Reporter
