Preparations for Republic Day celebrations reviewed

KARUR: Collector T.N. Venkatesh reviewed with the officials the preparations for coming Republic Day celebrations and arrangements for the multi media exhibition of the government’s achievements at a meeting here on Tuesday.

He called upon the departments to prepare the list of beneficiaries under various government schemes and also list of benefits to be disbursed to them at the earliest ahead of the Republic Day. The multi media exhibition, listing the government’s achievements, would be conducted at the Municipal Thiruvalluvar Playgrounds here from January 31 to February 9. Revenue, Development, Education, Agriculture, Rehabilitation, Health and Family Welfare, Handlooms and other departments were asked to put up stalls in the exhibition showcasing the benefits and schemes being implemented through them, the Collector said.

Mr. Venkatesh also urged the departments such as Police, Revenue, Women’s Development, Transport and Fire and Rescue Services to conduct workshops and seminars to create awareness among the public on their working.

District Revenue Officer Jawahar Shanthakumar, Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency, M. Madhavi, Project Officer, Mahalir Thittam, S. Ayyaru, Joint Director of Agriculture R. Durairaj, Regional Transport Officer Raj Kapoor, District Social Welfare Officer M. Rajeswari, District Disabled Rehabilitation Officer K. Jasmine, and other officials participated in the deliberations.
