Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: The Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali visited the annual Thai Poosam Theppam float festival of the Mylapore Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple, which commenced on Tuesday.
He was received with traditional temple honours, and greeted by Chairman and Managing Trustee of Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple Trust Board Nalli Kuppuswami Chetty and Deputy Commissioner and Executive Officer of the Board M. Devendhiran along with other trustees.
The Mylapore temple tank was donated by Nawab Wallajah of Carnatic, the ancestor of the Prince, during the 18th century when he was the sovereign ruler of this part of the country.
