Albums released

CHENNAI: A new set of CD albums, “Melakartha Gana Malika,” composed by Ashok Madhav and rendered by Ganakalashri M.S. Sheela, was released by N. Murali, president of The Music Academy, and Managing Director of The Hindu, at a function here on Tuesday.

Mr. Murali lauded Dr. Madhav of Pittsburgh for completing the tough task.

Pramila Gurumurthi, Head of the Department of Music, the University of Madras, who received the first copy of the album from Mr. Murali, commended the efforts of Dr.Madhav at composing 72 Melakartha Gana Malika Kirthis.

A concert by M.S. Sheela was held.
