Pawar refuses to interfere
NEW DELHI: BCCI President and Union Minister Sharad Pawar said it was the prerogative of the selection committee to decide who should be on the Indian cricket team. “The Board has selected the (selection) committee. Whatever is their decision, we accept.”
On the exclusion of Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly from the Indian squad for the ODI tri-series in Australia, Mr. Pawar said, “there was no Ganguly, Dravid or Sachin Tendulkar in the Twenty20 world cup, still we won. Test cricket is different from ODI and ODI from Twenty20. The Board does not interfere with the selection.”
