BANGALORE: Former State player, C.K. Yateesh of Mphasis, bagged a double in the inaugural Corporate table tennis tournament, conducted by Match Point Table Tennis Academy, here on Sunday. Yateesh won the men’s singles title, beating Arun Cyrial 11-6, 11-3, 11-6, 10-12, 11-6. He annexed the doubles title partnering Vikas Rao. Yateesh later steered Mphasis to a title win in the men’s team event. Akshata of H.P. defeated teammate Manasa to clinch the women’s singles crown. Former State champion and National player, Panchanatha Rao, presided and gave away the prizes. The results (all finals): Men’s team event: Mphasis beat Wipro 3-1 (C.K. Yateesh bt Arunabh Sharma 12 -10, 11-8, 11-7; Vikas Rao lost to Arnab Rakshit 8-11, 8-11, 4-11; C.K. Yateesh & Vikas Rao bt Arunabh Sharma & Arnab Rakshit 11-9, 12-10, 8-11, 11-5; C.K. Yateesh bt Arnab Rakshit 11-5, 11-2, 11-7). Open event: Men’s singles: C.K. Yateesh (Mphasis) bt Arun Cyril (Aviva) 11-6, 11-3, 11-6, 10-12, 11-6; Doubles: Yateesh & Vikas Rao (Mphasis) bt Arunabh Sharma & Arnab Rakshit (Wipro) 11-9, 11-5, 10-12, 11-4.
