BANGALORE: The Bangalore police have arrested a water diviner, who was allegedly practising witchcraft, on charge of murdering two women as human sacrifice to find hidden treasure.

Investigations revealed that Elizabeth (45) and Aruna (32), who were reported missing from Bangalore, were bludgeoned on the banks of the Veera Vaishnavi and the Shimsa in Mandya district on December 25 and 27.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Gopal B. Hosur told presspersons on Thursday that the Kalasipalya police on January 14 arrested the water diviner Ravindra alias Ajay (24) of Nagamangala taluk in Mandya district and his aide Mohan (20) of Bhagamandala in Kodagu district.

Shekar (20), Ravi Kumar (29) and Chandrashekar (19), who had helped the two in the crime, have been arrested.
