HYDERABAD: Centuries by Rohti Sabharwal (234, 38x4, 1x6) and Kushal P.Jilla (104, 18x4) were the hightlights for Marredpally Colt’s impressive 578 for seven against P&T Colony in the A-Division (three-day) knock-out cricket tournament here on Thursday. In reply, P & T Colony scored 242 in the first innings and then conceded the match. The scores: A-Division knock-out: Zinda Tilismath 66 & 73 (A. Lalith Mohan four for 17, Amol Shinde four for 13) lost to Andhra Bank 272 for five. SCRSA 431 for eight vs Syndicate Bank 229 (Sameer 40). MP Colts 578 for seven (Rohit Sabharwal 234, Kushal P. Jilla 104, Benjamin Thomas 67, Avtar Singh 56, Minash Gabriel 49 not out) bt P&T Colony 242 (M. Shashi 51, Rohit 67, Shayne Madge five for 92). P&T Colony conceded the tie. TKR College in finalTKR Engineering College, Hyderabad, recorded a one-wicket win over JBIT, Hyderabad, in the semifinal of the sixth SR Champions Trophy State-level inter-engineering colleges cricket tournament in Warangal on Thursday. In the other semifinal, Muffakam Jah Engineering College (Hyderabad) scored a four-wicket win over Dr. B.V.V. Raju Institute of Technology (Medak). The scores: Semifinals: Dr. B.V. Raju Institute of Technology, Medak, 113 (Nishant 44) lost to Muffakam Jah Engineering College, Hyd, 114 for six (Goutham Reddy 74 not out). St. Peter’s wins trophySt. Peter’s High School won the Gold Drop inter-schools (under-15) cricket tournament with a 16-run win over Mahesh Vidya Bhavan in the final at Shivrampally near here. Radhekrishna Yadav of MVB High School with 244 runs in the tournament was named ‘player of the tournament’ while Shaibaz Tumbi of St. Peter’s with 200 runs from four matches was named ‘best batsman’. Other special prizes were given to T.Rakesh Kumar of MVB High School (best bowler) and Vijay Singh Thapa of Kendriya Vidyalaya ,NPA, (best fielder). Sunil sparklesA breezy knock by Sunil Agarwal (83, 55 balls, 18x4) helped Raj Jyot XI record a comfortable, 40-run win over Sri Balaji XI in the league match of the sixth Jai Bhagawati limited-overs cricket tournament here.
