Shamsher Partap and Mayookha declared the best

CHIDAMBARAM: Shamsher Partap Singh of Guru Nanak Dev and Mayookha Johny of Kannur were adjudged best athletes in the men’s and women’s sections respectively at the 68th all-India inter-University athletics championship, which concluded at the Annamalai University here on Thursday.

University of Madras won the team championship in the men’s section. But the result of the women’s team championship has been withheld due to the controversy surrounding the participation of banned athlete Jasmin Joseph of Mahatma Gandhi University (Kottayam) in 4x400m relay heats.
