College teachers plan stir from February 5

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Joint Action Council of College Teachers, Tamil Nadu, will launch protests from February 5 to press for various demands.

At a recent meeting chaired by president S. Ramasamy, the council decided to conduct a “meet-the-members” campaign from February 5 to 20, followed by a mass rally in Chennai on March 8 and a picketing on an unspecified day when the Assembly would be in session.

The council expressed concern at the delay on the part of the Higher Education Minister to negotiate a settlement of its long-standing demands.
