Mumbai: By and large, the Indian cricket teams have been one of the best behaved in the world, former India captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi said. “Maybe in the past we were a bit passive, but today’s youngsters are likely to give back as well as they get. Anil Kumble has handled the situation in Australia in a most dignified and mature manner. “He has treated the situation very well and the BCCI has backed the team right through. It’s expected of the BCCI,” Pataudi, who was here to attend the IPL meeting, said. Responding to the controversy related to Harbhajan Singh, he said: “We have not got to the bottom of the issue. Probably the ICC will make it public once the appeal procedure is completed. “The meaning of monkey could be prejudice, bigotry, or even colour. The ICC is probably looking at the colour aspect.” Pataudi said that the Indian team should try and put everything behind and concentrate on the remaining part of the tour. “It’s going to be difficult, but they should try and play with the same intensity as they played the first two Tests,” he said. — Special Correspondent
