VIJAYAWADA: Local MP L. Rajagopal on Saturday said that elaborate arrangements were being made for the ‘Tiranga Run,’ slated for February 3, which would be conducted on a grand scale. Mr. Rajagopal, also the organising committee chairman of the programme, convened a meeting with the committee here said that the city was the most convenient place for the run compared to Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. “The officials here are cooperative and there will not be any traffic problem due the run here,” he said. The 10K run would commence at Swaraj Maidan and proceed through Benz circle, Executive Club, Karl Marx Road before culminating in Swaraj Maidan via Kotta Vantena. Over one lakh people are expected to participate in the run, for whom drinking water and breakfast would be supplied. Mr. Rajagopal said that colourful illuminations and cultural troupes would entertain the participants. “Arrangements are being made to telecast the even live through all satellite channels. The objective of the run is to remember Pingali Venkaiah, who designed the tri-colour,” he said. Ends
