Call for translation of Hindi literary works

CHENNAI: A three-day seminar on ‘Society as Depicted in Modern Hindi Literature,’ concluded here on Monday.

Madras University Vice-Chancellor S. Ramachandran said efforts to translate the works of Hindi literature into other languages should be encouraged to preserve the country’s unity.

Book released

Governor Surjit Singh Barnala released a book by Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank,’ Uttarakhand Minister for Health, Family Welfare and Science and Technology.

He also released the Tamil translation of the book, ‘Thainaade Unakkaha.’

He presented certificates and shawls to Hindi scholars.

Syed Rahamathulla, Head of the Department of Hindi, Madras University, and Chitti Annapurna, senior lecturer, Department of Hindi, Madras University, spoke.
