Website to promote tourism in Valparai launched

Staff Reporter

TIRUPUR: Joining hands with the district administration in promoting tourism in Valparai, a group of youth has launched a website www.valparaionline.com.

The interactive web portal provides information on places of interest in and around Valparai and accommodation facility in the hill station.

Information on package tours and accommodation at bungalows inside tea estates is available on the website. According to Jebaraj, who launched the website joining like minded youth, tourism is emerging as an alliterative for the trade in Valparai since the prospects of tea industry declining continuously.

Many tea estates have come forward to rent out their palatial bungalows for tourists as they find it difficult to maintain them. The number of visitors from Corporates has been on the rise to Valparai as they find Ooty and Kodaikanal more congested with tourist population, he adds.
