Paddy bags dumped in open yard rot in rain

VILLUPURAM: Paddy bags at the Arakandanallur regulated market committee near here were exposed to rain owing to lack of cover.

With the harvest season nearing the peak, the arrival has been heavy for the past week. As the godowns are full, thousands of bags were dumped in the open yard. They bore the brunt of incessant rain. The official sources said that though precautionary measures had been taken, the unusual rain had led to problems.
