BANGALORE: Nearly 50 visually impaired persons were presented with the 2008 calendar, specially made for them in Braille, here on Friday.

IDL Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, distributed the calendars to commemorate World Braille Day.

P.K. Paul, Executive Trustee, told presspersons: “Our intention is that such persons need not depend upon others to know the events. This year we are distributing 300 calendars. We are planning to distribute 1,000 calendars in the coming year.

B.K. Shivaram, retired Assistant Commissioner of Police released the calendars.

The Braille calendar, printed in six languages including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, can be got by calling 23461966.
