First win for Sporting Clube

Margao: Sporting Clube de Goa cashed in on Air-India goalkeeper Raju Ekka’s blunder to score a solitary goal win, its first, in the eighth round of the ONGC I-League football championship at the Nehru Stadium here on Saturday.

Man of the Match Elijah Obagbemiro scored the match-winner in the 40th minute.

Sporting Clube now has six points from eight matches, while Air-India remained on seven points from as many matches.

Earlier on Friday, defending champion Dempo and Mahindra United settled for a 1-1 draw. — PTI
