Thrilling win for Hi-Fliers

Chandigarh: Former champion Bangalore Hi-Fliers made a strong comeback after trailing 0-2 to score a thrilling win over local favourite Chandigarh Dynamos 3-2 in a league match of the Premier Hockey League at the Sector 42 Stadium here on Tuesday.

Dynamos struck twice with drag-flicker Sandeep Singh converting two stunning goals in 10th and 12th minutes.

In the 23rd, Bangalore pulled one back. Striker Sandeep Michael earned the team’s second short corner.

Chandigarh goalkeeper Baljit Singh blocked Len Aiyappa’s low drag-flick, but Bangalore’s Korean import, You Hyo-sik, converted the rebound.

Bangalore scored the equaliser in the 37th through Hyo-sik.

Bangalore finally won when Cheyanna slotted home off a short corner scramble.

In another match of the day, Sher-e-Jallandhar halted the victory march of Maratha Warriors 5-4 in sudden death and garnered two points.

The teams were tied 1-1 in the regulation time as well as the extra-time of 10 minutes.
