Prasanna takes trophy
CHENNAI: S. Prasanna (PSBB, Nungambakkam) defeated Manoharan (Golden Gates, Salem) to win the table tennis singles title in the Republic Day Games held in Salem.
Matches rescheduled
The over-55 years matches in The Hindu/Sportstar tennis tournament at the Krishnan Tennis Centre have been rescheduled for Thursday, owing to the rain. Those interested in participating can contact Sridhar. Ph: 9884174876.
PSBB SSS bags titles
The Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan SSS, Nungambakkam, bagged the boys’ and girls’ under-19 titles in the CBSE table tennis championship held in Hyderabad. In the boys’ section, Padma Seshadri BBSSS defeated Mayoor School, Ajmer, and in the girls’ section, the school beat Manavsthali school, Delhi.
Rain plays spoilsport
Both matches in the CFA league — senior division involving Netaji and RBI and first division between Challengers Union and DB Annai Youth — could not be held at the Nehru Stadium on Tuesday in view of the poor condition of the turf following rain.
